Prog Media server

Prog Media Server is a ProgDVB module allowing you to broadcast the information via home-networks, or to watch several channels on the same computer simultaneously.

Features:
1. Current TV-channel broadcasting Herewith, the client may switch the channels independently (if he knows the password set on server).
2. IPTV Server. Transmission of channels from current transponder in Transport Stream format.
3. Shoutcast server for TV and radio channels. For example you can use WinAmp for radio station listen.
4. Also, ProgDVB channels list (upon request) etc.

Multicast, broadcast and unicast tcp protocols are being supported. Free version (Home) supports only tcp, with not more than one supported client at the same time. Besides, some clients (e.g. VLC) can operate only with broadcast or multicast.

Pro version of Prog Media Server costs 60 Euros (include updates in future) for small networks.

PS: if you don't need to watch TV on server, start ProgDVB with the key /NoGraph to spare a great deal of resources.

Prog Media client

Prog Media client - is a free module, allowing ProgDVB to work as a network or IPTV client.

It has 2 modes (chosen from menu Settings->Device list)
1. To receive the stream from Prog Media Server. ProgDVB will show it as a usual TV-channel. One may also switch the channels on server.
2. To receive the IPTV. It may contain only video and audio information, or may also include PSI-tables for channels description. In the last case - EPG, scanning and subtitles will be functioning, i.e. ProgDVB operation will not differ from working with DVB-card.
list will be available in ProgDVB to enable switching between radio-stations without any limitations.

Naturally, the client supports all server functions as well. It may receive the channel information, channels list, switch the channels, etc.

With some limitations any client may be used for operating with Prog Media server and vice versa, Prog Media client may be used with any other server, with no guarantees for operability.
